CyberViewer requires a PowerMac or 68020 (or better) Mac, and System 7.5 or better. It will run with Netscape Navigator 2.0, 3.0, and 4.0, 4.5, and Communicator 4.0. and 4.5. It does not currently work with Internet Explorer.
CyberViewer takes approximately 500K of system memory while Navigator is running. When it's not running, it takes only about 2K of memory. Please note that it does not load inside of Navigator as a plugin, but runs as a separate, background application. What this means is that you need to have at least an additional 500K of memory available AFTER Netscape has loaded in order for CyberViewer to be loaded. If you get a message that CyberViewer could not load because of low memory, do not increase Navigator's application size - this will only leave less room for CyberViewer.
Installing CyberViewer
CyberViewer is a system extension. To install CyberViewer, either drag the "CyberViewer" extension file to the Extensions folder in your current System folder, or just drag it to the System Folder, and the Finder will ask you to confirm that you want it moved to the Extensions folder. Say yes to this.
You'll then need to restart your machine. That's it! CyberViewer will be loaded whenever you launch Navigator or Communicator. You'll know that it's loaded by the "CyberViewer' menu that is added to the menu bar.
Support & Contact Info
If you have any questions that are not answered in this user's guide, or if you experience any problems, check out the CyberViewer home page at <http://www.easystreet.com/~jasonk/cyberviewer/>. I try to respond promptly to all email, but the web site may be the fastest way to answer any questions you might have.
Please feel free to send email with feature requests. I've started work on the next version, and I'd love suggestions on how to make CyberViewer even better.
